Authorities respond to accident near Apache Mall – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER – Authorities responded to what appeared to be a two-vehicle crash around noon Saturday, Aug. 17, at the intersection of Highway 14 and Memorial Parkway Southwest.

The front of a Kia Forte was dented. The second vehicle, a Silverado pickup, suffered less visible damage.

The accident caused the eastbound lane of Highway 14 to be temporarily closed. Information about possible injuries was not immediately available.

Saturday's accident occurred near the same location where a fatal crash involving a Minnesota State Patrol trooper occurred in May. Olivia Flores, an 18-year-old from Owatonna, died in the crash. Trooper Shane Roper is facing charges in connection with the incident.

Our newsroom occasionally reports under the name “Staff.” The “Staff” name is often used when rewriting basic news briefs from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure that requires little or no reporting. Sometimes this name is used when a story has multiple authors or when the story consists of compiling previously reported news from various sources. When outside sources are used, this is noted in the story.
