Bebe Rexha says she was banned from boarding a plane because of a 'hate crime'

Bebe Rexha claimed she was “threatened” and banned from a flight, which she called a “hate crime.”

The singer posted a video from Munich Airport on her Instagram story on Saturday (August 17), in which she claimed that a security guard told her that she could not board her Lufthansa flight.

Rexha said in tears: “I was threatened because I thought the security guard was Albanian. I spoke to him in Albanian and asked him where I could get my ticket and now he is not allowing me to board the flight.”

“I believe this is a hate crime because I am Albanian,” she continued in a subsequent post. “He wouldn't let me take his name. He continued to psychologically abuse me to make me feel more powerful than him.”

“None of the women at @Lufthansa intervened or said anything. He wouldn't give me his name. But I just found out he works for ATSG, a document control service provider contracted by Lufthansa.”

Rexha is of Albanian and North Macedonian descent; her mother is of Albanian descent and was born in the United States, while her father was born in North Macedonia and moved to the United States at the age of 21.

In July, Rexha kicked an audience member out of her show for trying to throw an object at her during a performance. “If you hit me with anything on stage, I will punish you for everything you've f***ing done,” she said.

“Don't you fucking play with me now. Get out, piss off,” she added, also urging the crowd to “point at the person” causing chaos and asking them to say goodbye as security escorted them out.

The month before, there had been a very similar incident in Wisconsin, in which the singer reacted just as forcefully.

Both situations sparked strong reactions from Rexha, which is understandable considering she was hit in the face with a cellphone during a show in New York City last year, causing her to suffer an eye injury and be taken to the hospital for stitches.

A man was charged with assault and harassment following the incident, and in February it was announced that the charges could be released if he completes 40 days of community service.

In other Rexha news in June, she slammed her former collaborator G-Eazy, calling him a “stupid, ungrateful loser.”
