Creator of “The Boys” announces “a lot of death” in the final season

Eric Kripke announces the beginning of the end and says goodbye with a bang.

The guys The creator warned fans that there will “likely be a lot of deaths” in the upcoming fifth and final season of the Prime Video series, which is currently in development after a record-breaking fourth season.

“There's no guarantee who survives because we don't have to keep them for another season, so really shocking, big things can happen all the time,” Kripke said Full film“And when we writers start to hatch it, we really enjoy it.”

He added that there was a lot of pressure to give fans a happy ending after it was announced in June that the series would end after five seasons, which he said was “always my plan.”

“So many series finales suck, and it's really hard to land the plane,” Kripke added. “I'm very grateful to Amazon for giving me the opportunity to end it on our own terms, but obviously I feel a tremendous amount of pressure to end it well. Because I think if we stick the landing, people are going to say, 'This is a great show!' But if we screw up the bed, people are going to say, 'Oh, it was a good show, but they screwed up the bed.'”

Back in 2020, Kripke noted that his “rough idea” for the comic book TV adaptation was “about five seasons,” but acknowledged that his previous show Supernatural ran for 15 seasons. “But I also know that it's pointless to say how many seasons a series will have,” he said at the time.

The last season of The boys comes after Season 4 topped the Nielsen streaming ratings for the first time and set several records for Prime Video. Meanwhile, Prime Video has ordered the prequel series Vought riseswith Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash as Soldier Boy and Stormfront.
