After car accident in Santa Maria, over 100 barrels of crude oil leak from a semi-trailer

SANTA MARIA, Calif. – First responders are on the scene of a car crash involving a semi-truck and another car at the corner of Telephone Rd. and E Clark Ave. in Santa Maria.

The truck was carrying 150 barrels of crude oil and the area remains heavily trafficked. Authorities recommend using alternate routes to avoid the accident scene, the SBCFD said.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, four people were injured, two with minor/moderate injuries and two with serious injuries. They were flown by helicopter to Marion and Cottage hospitals.
