Several people hospitalized after high-speed crash in Redondo Beach – NBC Los Angeles

Several people were taken to the hospital after a high-speed crash in Redondo Beach on Saturday.

According to police, a woman in a white Ford Fusion ignored several stop signs and collided with at least four other moving vehicles.

Among those taken to hospital was a pregnant woman.

At around 2:30 p.m., police received a 911 call about a domestic dispute at the Redondo Beach Pier, where a woman drove away in her car.

By the time police found out where she was, the accident had already happened. Many neighbors initially feared that the police were following them as the woman was driving at high speed.

Debris was scattered all over the street, a few blocks from the sea.

“I heard the impact from inside my house and knew immediately it was something really bad… I went outside and thought, 'I have to call 911,' and almost at that moment I heard sirens,” said Susie Bottomly, who lives nearby.

The driver was arrested and none of the passengers were seriously injured.
