DGP: Report drug offenses anonymously

Hyderabad: The Telangana Council of Higher Education (TGCHE) launched a programme to increase consciousness about drug abuse and ragged at the auditorium of Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University on Saturday. The aim of the event was to sensitize students on these critical issues and promote a safe learning environment.
Director General Jitender stressed the government's zero-tolerance stance towards drug abuse and hazing, pointing out the strict punishments the Anti-Hazing Act provides for culprits. “The government is committed to creating a safe environment for students,” said Dr Jitender. “I request students not to hesitate to report cases of drug abuse or hazing in their colleges. Their anonymity will be protected and immediate action will be taken.”
Hyderabad Commissioner K Srinivasa Reddy stressed the importance of drug abuse education and anti-bullying and encouraged students to refrain from such behaviour.
