What's the status of the congressional investigation into Trump's shooting while lawmakers are on recess? Cramer explains

BISMARCK, ND (KFYR) – The investigation into the assassination of former President Trump is still ongoing. Congressional committees are part of the investigation, and just before the August recess, members heard testimony from Interim Director of the Secret Service Ronald Rowe and FBI Director Christopher Wray, which revealed more information.

Senator Kevin Cramer says the congressional investigation is ongoing. He says the FBI's main investigation is not so much about what happened that day, but rather what happened before that day and why Mr. Trump wasn't better protected. Cramer says he believes we will see the necessary corrections, with a focus on resources. He says it also shows how poor the leadership was at the time.

“One of the things I would like to see, and I support legislation that would do that, is that the Director of National Intelligence must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate. Even though it's not a partisan position, we need to have the ability to oversee that agency and that director and look at them with a different lens,” Cramer said.

Cramer says the American people feel like they have been left out of this decision. He says there is a lot to discuss about how to proceed and Congress needs to have legitimate oversight and a confirmation vote would help.
