Wanted Miami Beach burglar arrested for theft at Walgreens – NBC 6 South Florida

A repeat burglar who escaped from custody at the Miami-Dade Corrections prison was arrested again after robbing a Walgreens store, Miami Beach police said.

Christopher Pitre was arrested in Miami Beach on Saturday after an employee told police he left without paying for the goods.

Pitre is a convicted felon with a long criminal history who is accused of robbing Miami Beach City Commissioner Joe Magazine at gunpoint in a parking garage earlier this year.

Pitre was wanted because he removed his ankle bracelet and escaped from a treatment facility on Tuesday.

Pitre was arrested in April on more than a dozen charges, including burglary and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Police believe the 35-year-old is responsible for several break-ins, thefts and other crimes in Miami Beach.

In April, police say Pitre held Commissioner Magazine at gunpoint in a parking garage; the incident was captured on surveillance cameras.

According to the magazine, he went to his car, opened the door and saw a man sleeping inside. The man then pointed a gun at him.
