Kurtz is from Philadelphia and began his career in the 70s and appeared in season 8 of America's Got Talent in front of judges Howard Stern, Mel B and Heidi Klum, introducing himself as a “former male stripper” before performing a number. Unfortunately, the judges didn't think he was funny enough and Kurtz received three “no's” and didn't make it past the auditions.

“Howard had prepared mean jokes that I booed back at and the audience laughed,” Kurtz joked about the experience on his YouTube page. “They gave me no mic stand, weird music, and turned my mic off for two-thirds of the audience when I started singing. THEN they asked the audience to stand up and boo me. Welcome to reality TV.”

After his America's Got Talent Performance, Kurtz appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

America's Got Talent Season 19 airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on NBC and streams on Peacock.
