Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz makes his first comeback after the unpleasant experience at the Cincinnati Open.

Alcaraz, frustrated by Gael Monfils' surprise win on Friday, August 16, erupted in anger and hit his racket several times on the court.

The four-time Grand Slam winner later publicly apologized for his behavior and emotional reaction.

The 21-year-old wrote on Instagram: “I would like to apologize for my behavior yesterday. It was not good and something like that should not happen on the pitch. I am only human, my nerves are on edge and sometimes it is very difficult to keep this tension under control.”

Looking ahead to the upcoming US Open in New York, he added: “I will make sure this doesn't happen again. Now it's time to think about NYC!”
