Man charged over incident before Rangers vs St Johnstone game

A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged following an incident before Rangers' game against St Johnstone at Hampden.

According to police, a 51-year-old woman was attacked and a St Johnstone fan drum was taken from her outside the stadium in Glasgow. The stadium is currently being used by Rangers while construction work is taking place at Ibrox.

The incident occurred at around 4.45pm on Saturday before the Scottish League Cup match. Rangers won the game 2-0.

The man is due to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

The woman did not require hospital treatment.

According to Scottish police, two more people were arrested while investigating the first incident.

A disturbance broke out during which the two men, aged 16 and 21, were arrested for allegedly disturbing the public peace and resisting arrest.

Both were charged and released on bail to appear before Glasgow Sheriff Court at a later date.
