Serious injury blow: Another ManU star limps on crutches – report

Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof was seen limping on crutches following the injury he sustained in the warm-up match against Liverpool earlier this month.

The Swedish international was substituted at half-time against the Reds and his wife Maja Nilsson Lindelof gave an update in an Instagram story.

While Man United have yet to make an official statement on the injury, the defender's wife posted a short clip of him limping on crutches.

Lindelof has also been regularly linked with a summer departure, but given his condition, this will be unlikely.

The Red Devils are already without Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and summer signing Leny Yoro in defence, while Harry Maguire was substituted in the 81st minute against Fulham on Friday evening.

The England international was seen limping and holding the back of his right leg as he left the pitch, but it remains to be seen whether he has sustained a serious injury.

Man United are currently without four defenders, but the signing of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich has helped to strengthen this position.

The duo faced Fulham and are expected to feature when the Red Devils visit Brighton & Hove Albion in their second Premier League game of the 2024-25 season on Saturday.

They secured a hard-fought 1-0 win over Fulham thanks to an 87th-minute strike from Joshua Zirkzee. Manager Erik ten Hag will be hoping for a better performance from his side against the Seagulls, who beat Everton 3-0 on Saturday.

The Dutchman was unable to get the best out of the team last season due to several injuries and will hope that this will not be the case this season after a series of fitness issues.
