Production of the second season of “Gen V” delayed after the tragic death of star Chance Perdomo

Today should be a happy day for the actors and producers of Prime Videos Generation V as they were scheduled to meet again this afternoon in Toronto for the first reading of the second season of the superhero series, before filming begins in the Canadian city on April 8.

Instead, they learned that one of the series' stars, Chance Perdomo, had died in a motorcycle accident. On Saturday, they tried to come to terms with the sudden and difficult loss. Little is known about the circumstances of Perdomo's death at the age of 27. It is believed that he died late last night or early this morning in upstate New York on his way back to Toronto. Citing authorities, the actor's representatives said today that no other people were involved in the accident.

After Perdomo's death, production of the second season begins on Generation V has been postponed indefinitely. After having time to mourn Perdomo's sudden death, the show's writers and producers are faced with the dilemma of how to continue with the series without one of their main actors. They must either rework the new season and rewrite all the scripts to write off Perdomo's character, or recast the role.
