Peacock Max Hulu: New Movies Coming to OTT Streaming Platforms This Week: Check Out the Full List and Release Dates

New movies are coming out this week on Max, Peacock and Hulu. We have a list of movies with their release dates on OTT streaming platforms.

After a rocky theatrical release, Kevin Costner's western Horizon: An American Saga hits theaters on Max on Friday, August 23. Costner's three-hour epic, the first in a series originally planned to be four films, failed to win over many critics despite Costner's passionate belief in the project, and was not a big box office success ($29 million domestic). (He put up millions of his own money for the $100 million-plus budget.) The release date for the already-completed second film has also been pushed back. The cast includes Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Jena Malone and Costner.

George Miller's “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga,” now streaming on Max, may have struggled to match the dizzying heights of 2015's “Fury Road.” But the film, a prequel to “Fury Road,” features some exceptional action sequences, a large fleet of dystopian vehicles and one of the best performances of Chris Hemsworth's career. Anya Taylor-Joy plays the young Furiosa, taking over the role previously played by Charlize Theron.

John Woo revisits one of his own classics in “The Killer,” a remake of his 1989 Hong Kong-set action film. Nathalie Emmanuel (“Game of Thrones”) plays a hitwoman pursued in Europe by a detective (Omar Sy). A remake of “The Killer” has been in the works since the early '90s, with a wide range of filmmakers and stars (from Denzel Washington to Lupita Nyong'o) involved over the years. In the end, Woo, 77, decided to remake the film himself. The film will stream on Peacock on August 23.

In Tina Mabry's The Supremes at Earl's All You Can Eat, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Sanaa Lathan and Uzo Aduba play a trio of lifelong friends from Indiana who named themselves after the Motown trio. Adapted from Edward Kelsey Moore's 2013 film by Mabry and Gina Prince-Bythewood (who performs under the pseudonym Cee Marcellus), The Supremes at Earl's All You Can Eat tells the story of an enduring sisterhood through ups and downs. The film will stream on Hulu on Friday, August 23.
