The series, which first aired in the UK on BBC iPlayer, has found a new global audience on Netflix, where it has received immediate praise from fans.

In LADbible's Netflix Bangers Facebook group, viewers raved about the show's thought-provoking storyline and binge-watching appeal.

One person wrote: “Love the twists. Only a few more episodes,” while another said: “So damn good! Oh my god the unexpected twist had me on edge.”

Another fan commented: “Best thing on Netflix right now,” and a fourth wrote: “I loved it too. I was glued to the TV and watched until 2am.”

Another viewer who enjoyed the show said: “This reminds me of the Wednesday series, minus the dark humor. Easy to follow and has enough depth to hold your attention.”

Even fans of the novel trilogy were impressed. One wrote: “Loved it, skipped a lot of the book to fit in the episodes but it was worth watching!”

Another wrote: “Of course the books will always be better. But this show isn't bad at all. Actually pretty amazing. And yes, it does seem rushed, but if you're someone who hasn't read the books and just plans to watch this instead, you'll be fine.”

However, one fan of the novel series was a little more critical and wrote: “I found the novel much better, the plot seems a bit rushed in this series, but overall it was quite good.”

Meanwhile, Netflix fans have hailed a new series as a “masterpiece” after it was released on the streaming platform last month – but other viewers reacted less positively, complaining about a frustrating plot hole.
