A shooting suspect is dead after Chicago police heard gunshots in the Pilsen neighborhood on Sunday morning, confronted the suspect and eventually opened fire themselves.

According to authorities, Robbery Task Force officers heard multiple gunshots in the 1800 block of South Blue Island Avenue around 1:16 a.m.

Officers encountered two armed suspects at the scene and eventually opened fire, hitting one of the suspects.
