Greensboro police investigate fatal shooting on South Benbow Road

According to Greensboro police officials, a man is dead following a shooting in the early hours of this morning in Greensboro.

According to police, officers, fire departments and Guilford County EMS were called to 2104 South Benbow Road around 7 a.m. Saturday for an unknown problem or incapacitated person.

When they arrived, officers found 37-year-old jawan Aunree Warren-Jackson unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are investigating a homicide and next of kin have been notified. There is currently no information on a suspect or the cause of the shooting.

This is the 25th murder in Greensboro this year.
