Man in jail after standoff in north Fargo – InForum

FARGO – A man is in Cass County Jail after a six-hour standoff in north Fargo that ended early Sunday, Aug. 18.

The standoff occurred on Monte Carlo Drive in the Riviera Heights mobile home park, just off North University Drive.

Police said they received a report of a man attacking two people in a home around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday.

The two victims managed to escape. They told police that 35-year-old Frankie Moran had threatened to shoot the police officers if they entered the house.

Shortly after midnight, police posted a warning on social media and asked people to avoid the area.

The officers ordered Moran to leave the house over a loudspeaker system. He refused.

The Red River Valley SWAT team was called.

At around 5:15 a.m. they removed Moran from the house with a chemical irritant and took him into custody.

The crime scene was secured shortly afterwards.

Moran is in the Cass County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault. The investigation is ongoing.
