Pedestrian hit in early morning incident near busy intersection | Local news

According to a Killeen Police press release, the man was struck while attempting to cross South Fort Hood Road from west to east.

“…a black Chevrolet SUV traveling north on South Fort Hood Road entered the left turn lane to enter West Elms Road (when it struck the pedestrian, who may have paused to cross),” the release said. “The pedestrian was not crossing the street at the lighted intersection of West Elms Road, but was in a poorly lit area and was wearing dark clothing.”

According to the press release, there was a driver and two passengers in the Chevrolet.

“The KPD Traffic Unit continues to investigate this accident and no further information is available at this time,” the press release said.
