Porsche case Pune: Accused minor who killed two people completes 15-day driver safety program – News from India

The minor accused of killing two people in a fatal road accident in Pune on May 19 has successfully completed the 15-day driver safety programme required by the court, according to a Regional Transport Office (RTO) official.

In the incident, which took place in Kalyani Nagar, Pune, the minor was driving a Porsche under the influence of alcohol, which led to the death of two IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh.

The case attracted national attention, in part because the accused was released on bail by the juvenile court on what many considered lenient conditions, and because there were allegations that the accused's family and some medical professionals attempted to cover up the incident.

As part of his bail conditions, the youth had to complete a driver safety program, write a 300-word essay on road accidents and be taught traffic rules and regulations by the RTO.

“The juvenile accused has completed the RTO's driver safety programme. In accordance with the court's guidelines, the operation was carried out discreetly as it could have resulted in invasion of the juvenile's privacy,” a senior RTO official said.

The safe driving program covered key aspects such as road safety measures, the importance of having a driving license and understanding traffic signals and symbols, including practical on-site training.

Officials confirmed that the minor also submitted the required 300-word essay.
