Shooting at a Sumter hotel leaves two dead, police say

SUMTER, SC (WIS) – Sumter police are working to identify suspects after an early morning shooting left two people dead at a Broad Street hotel.

On Sunday morning, officers were called to a shooting at the Sleep Inn on Broad Street around 4:30 a.m. Police said two people were found dead at the scene.

Further information is not yet available as the investigation is still at an early stage, police said.

A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information leading to arrests. Authorities are asking anyone with information to call Sumter police at 803-436-2700 and submit a tip to Crime Stoppers.
