According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 11:39 p.m. at the intersection of North Sheridan Road and E. 136th St. N., about a mile southwest of Collinsville High School.

According to OHP, the teen was driving west on East 136th Street when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a car traveling north on Sheridan with four occupants.

The driver of the vehicle, a 37-year-old woman, and an 11-year-old passenger were trapped in the vehicle for about 20 minutes, OHP said. Rescue workers had to free them using rescue equipment.

The woman and a 43-year-old man in the car were taken to hospital in critical condition.

The last passenger, a 1-year-old, was examined and not hospitalized. The 11-year-old is in good condition but has leg injuries, authorities say.

Medical staff declared the 16-year-old dead on the scene.
