The mother of actor Johnny Wactor reacts to the arrests in her son's murder case

Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón will file charges on Monday in connection with the death of former “General Hospital” actor Johnny Wactor.

Gascón's office said the charges would be announced during a press conference at 3 p.m. on the afternoon of August 19 in front of the Palace of Justice. four arrests on 15 August in connection with Wactor's shooting death in May.

The suspects were identified by the LAPD as 18-year-old Robert Barceleau, 18-year-old Leonel Gutierrez, 18-year-old Sergio Estrada and 22-year-old Frank Olano. Barceleau, Gutierrez and Estrada were arrested last week on murder charges. Officers arrested Olano as an accessory to the crime. It was not immediately clear if each of them will face the same and/or different charges. Acting LAPD Chief Dominic Choi will appear alongside Gascón at Monday's press conference.

The The 37-year-old Wactor was shot on May 25 in downtown Los Angeles. He had just finished his shift as a bartender and went to his car at Hope Street and Pico Boulevard when he was shot without provocation. The suspects were allegedly trying to steal his catalytic converter, authorities said. Wactor would have turned 38 on August 31.

Micah Parker, a family spokesman, said last week that Wactor's mother wants to ensure “that there is a conviction and that that conviction is met with a sentence that is extremely harsh and sets an example.”

“We want justice for him, but we also want to use his name and his legacy to make the whole city safer, make the whole state safer and basically make sure his death was not in vain,” Parker said.

Wactor appeared in nearly 200 episodes of the soap opera General Hospital as Brando Corbin. He has also appeared in series such as Westworld, NCIS, and Criminal Minds.
