Tragic accident: Milk tanker falls into Kasara Ghat valley

In a tragic incident in Thane district of Maharashtra on Sunday, five people lost their lives and four others were injured when a milk tanker plunged into a 200-foot deep valley in the Kasara Ghat hill area.

According to initial reports, the driver apparently lost control of his vehicle on a bend while on his way to Mumbai. The accident occurred around 3 pm when the tanker was travelling from Sinnar in Nashik district.

Rescue and disaster management teams rushed to the scene and recovered the injured and dead using ropes amid heavy rain. The bodies were shifted to a government hospital for postmortem and identification while the injured were shifted to a hospital in Ghoti village. Authorities are conducting further investigations into the incident.
