One person seriously injured and four others injured in Woodstock accident

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (CBS) — One person is in serious condition and four others were injured following a rollover accident near Woodstock on Sunday afternoon.

According to the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District, the accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Route 47 and Charles Road.

Two vehicles were involved in the accident and five people had to be taken to hospital.

A woman was thrown from one of the vehicles and flown by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries.

Four others were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, officials say.

The Hebron-Alden-Greenwood Fire Protection District and the Wonder Lake Fire Protection District also assisted in responding to the accident.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

As of 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Charles Road was still closed due to the investigation.
