Man killed with bomb in Tel Aviv, Israeli killed in West Bank in separate incidents |

An explosion occurred in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening, killing one person and injuring another. Due to the nature of the explosion, there are suspicions that it may have been an attack. Authorities are currently actively investigating the situation. The explosion occurred shortly after the death of an Israeli security officer who was attacked with a hammer in a West Bank settlement.

The source of the explosion was identified as an explosive device attached to a vehicle. The detonation had considerable force and caused damage. There are fears that it was a deliberate act of violence.

Surveillance video of the explosion:

As reports of the explosion came in, Israeli police units arrived at the scene of the accident on Lahi Street to assess the damage and assist the victims. The identity of the dead man has not yet been released, but the injured person, who had passed by on a scooter, was immediately given medical attention.

Investigators are currently combing through evidence to uncover motives and identify anyone responsible for this incident.

This incident in Tel Aviv occurred just as US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken arrived in Tel Aviv and thousands of Israelis took to the streets to demand a ceasefire to end the 317-day Israeli attack on the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip.

In a separate incident, 38-year-old Israeli security guard Gidon Peri, who was attacked by a Palestinian armed with a hammer in the West Bank earlier on Sunday, succumbed to his injuries at Rabin Medical Center in Petah Tikva on Sunday evening.

Israeli Major General Avi Blot, commander of the Central Command, conducted a situation assessment at the site of the attack in the settlement of Kedumim in the occupied West Bank overnight.

Blot said: “This is a very serious attack. I met with the commanders and the chairman of the Kedumim Council on the ground and I would like to express my condolences to the Peri family and share their grief. We are pursuing the heinous terrorist and will soon bring him to justice. At the same time, we will conduct a thorough investigation to learn from this and prevent similar incidents in the future.”
