Sumter woman charged with murder after man shot

SUMTER, SC (WIS) – A Sumter woman is facing murder charges after she was killed in what is believed to be a domestic shooting Sunday morning.

Officials said they were called to a home on Putter Drive around 6:30 a.m. Sunday, where they found a woman, 23-year-old Jasmine Symone Woods, and a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound.

Antoin Pugh, 34, was treated at the scene and taken to Prisma Health Tuomey, where he later died.

Information indicates that the suspect and Pugh once had a relationship. Officials believe the estranged couple argued before the shooting occurred.

Woods, who has a different address on Putter Drive, was taken into custody and booked into the county jail.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
