Trelawny farmer accused of stabbing man who owed him money | News

A 24-year-old farmer from Trelawny has been charged with murder following an altercation with a man who allegedly owed him money on Wednesday.

The accused is Onique Small, also known as ‘Ojay’, of Hague Settlement, Falmouth, while the victim is 35-year-old Conroy Bramwell, also known as ‘Smokey’, of Spring Hill, Stewart Castle, Duncans, Trelawny.

According to Falmouth police, Bramwell was walking in town around 11:15 p.m. when an argument broke out with Bramwell, to whom he had lent money.

The argument escalated into a physical altercation, during which Small allegedly stabbed Bramwell with scissors.

The police were called and upon their arrival, Bramwell was taken to hospital where he was treated.

Bramwell succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.

Small turned himself in to police on Thursday and was charged after a question-and-answer session on Saturday.

His court date is currently being set.
