Man, 20, charged with murder and sex with corpse after woman stabbed to death in Kent

A man has been charged with murder and having sex with a corpse after a woman was stabbed to death in Kent.

Ernestas Juska, 20, of Dartford, was arrested following a report of a disturbance at a property in Henderson Drive, Dartford, at 6.50am on Saturday 17 August.

Officers and paramedics went to the property where a woman was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing.

She was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. The victim knew Juska.

He remains in custody after being charged with murder and sexual offences against a deceased woman. Juska will appear at Medway Magistrates' Court today.

The suspect was taken into custody following reports of a disturbance at a property in Henderson Drive (pictured), Dartford, at 6.50am on Saturday 17 August.

Residents reported hearing emergency sirens throughout Saturday morning.

Vehicles called to the scene included a rescue helicopter, and forensic technicians in protective clothing were seen entering and leaving the property.

A neighbor who asked not to be identified said: “You don't expect something like this to happen on your doorstep. This is a big thing. I think the police will be here all day. It's more than just a disturbance.”

Another resident said of the forensic scientists: “They are wearing blue gloves and white suits. There are about six forensic scientists there.”

They added: “I have never seen so many police cars driving down the hill. I was born in Dartford and have never seen anything like it.”

Jim Dickson, MP for Dartford, said: “My thoughts are with the victim and everyone affected by the tragic incident in Temple Hill this morning.”

“I would like to thank the police for their swift response and encourage anyone with relevant information to contact them.”

A Kent Police spokesman said at the weekend: “A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident in Dartford, Kent.”

“Officers attended with colleagues from the South East Coast Ambulance Service and a woman was found with injuries consistent with a stabbing. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”

“A man in his twenties, known to the victim, was arrested and taken into custody. Officers remain at the scene conducting enquiries. Henderson Drive is currently closed between the junctions with Marsh Street and Cavell Crescent.”

Councillor Kelly Grehan, district councillor for Temple Hill, said on Saturday she had been made aware of a “very serious incident” and asked people not to speculate about the circumstances.
