Bo Nix of the Broncos delivers strong starting positions, while Zach Wilson struggles against the Packers

Bo Nix once again made a convincing case for the Broncos' starting spot in Sunday's game against the Packers.

Nix completed 8 of 9 passes for 80 yards and a touchdown and continues to impress the Broncos officials.

He added another 12 yards on three rushing attempts to secure Denver's 27-2 preseason victory at Empower Field.

Although Nix performed well, Broncos head coach Sean Payton said he would not announce a starter after the game.

Nix's touchdown throw – a 2-yard pass to Tim Patrick – came in the second quarter with 13:14 left on the clock.

The 12th pick in this year's draft rolled to the right and threw a pass to Patrick as he crossed the goal line and scored the touchdown.

Nix also led the Broncos to a field goal on their first possession, but missed a chance for a touchdown when a throw that was originally ruled a TD was nullified after a review.

The rookie had crossed the line of scrimmage when he threw the ball, thus preventing the possible touchdown.

It was a far cry from the game former Jets first-round pick Zach Wilson played against Green Bay on Sunday night.

Wilson, who was traded from the Jets to the Broncos in April, completed 2 of 6 passes for 29 yards and was sacked twice for a loss of 13 yards – including once for a safety.

Jarrett Stidham completed 7 of 11 passes for 65 yards and threw one interception.

Earlier this week, Payton praised Wilson for the way he responded to his coaching.

“I like what I see. That's one of the benefits of bringing someone like him here,” Payton said, according to Denver Broncos on SI.
