And amid the shocking incident, an old video of Rani Mukerji and Deepika Padukone's debate on women's safety has gone viral. The actresses were part of Rajeev Masand's actresses roundtable when the MeToo movement was at its peak in Bollywood

Rani Mukerji said, “I think as a woman you have to be so strong yourself. If you ever come into such a situation, you have to have the courage to say 'stop'. It all depends on what you want in life. If they ever come into such a situation, they should make the man suffer right there and then. Either kick him in the groin or give him a jhapad of his life. He will remember it and get scared not to do it again.”

To this, Deepika replied, “We are talking about self-defence now. Why should it even come to this point that I have to learn to defend myself? All these things are great, but you have to nip it in the bud; that situation itself should not arise.”
