Accident in Woodstock leaves five injured, part of Charles Road closed – NBC Chicago

A section of Charles Road in the northern suburb of Woodstock was closed Sunday evening after a rollover crash injured five people, including a woman who was seriously injured, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 2:35 p.m. at the intersection of Route 47 and Charles Road. It is still unclear what exactly happened, but fire officials said five people were injured in the collision.

Four people were taken to local hospitals with minor injuries, according to the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District. A fifth person, a woman who was thrown from one of the vehicles, was flown by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with serious injuries, officials said.

As of 5:24 p.m., Charles Road near Route 47 was still closed while authorities were on scene.

The McHenry County Sheriff's Office conducted an investigation.
