Release date for Pokémon TCG Pocket set for October

The Pokémon Company today announced that the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released worldwide on October 30, 2024.

This new Pokémon trading card collecting app received a new trailer along with the release date announcement at the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships in Hawaii. The new trailer showed off opening packs using the touch screen in various locations and gameplay features such as trading with other collectors.

At the end of the trailer, an “Immersive Card” was announced that featured Mewtwo. These cards allow you to explore the digital art in a 3D space, giving you a much deeper look into the card art than ever before. Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket was announced earlier this year in February on Pokémon Day, and this is the first new trailer we've seen since then.

So far, we know that every day in Pokémon TCG Pocket, you can open two new booster packs for free. The cards contain existing Pokémon TCG artwork and new cards exclusive to the app. You can view your Pokémon card collection, trade them, explore the artwork in detail, and possibly more that hasn't been fully explained yet.

You can pre-register for Pokémon TCG Pocket now on the App Store and Google Play. If you're in New Zealand, you can play early at the soft launch – there's no word yet on when that will be!
