Father from Chhattisgarh beats 8-year-old girl to death. She was fighting with her sister over toys

A father from Chhattisgarh beat his eight-year-old daughter to death and seriously injured her nine-year-old sister after they argued over a toy in front of him, police said.

Alisha Parveen (8) and Alina Parveen (9) got into an argument over a toy in their house in Janjgir-Champa. Their father, Salman Ali (35), who works as a mechanic, saw the two children arguing and lost his temper.

Neighbors said he brutally attacked both daughters. He kicked and hit the girls and even used a belt.

Neighbours rushed to the girls' aid after hearing their screams. They found Salman attacking his daughters with a belt. Both girls sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital by neighbours.

While eight-year-old Alisha was declared dead, her older sister Alina is in critical condition.

The incident was reported to the police by hospital staff and neighbours. The police arrived at the hospital, took Alisha's body into custody and sent it for an autopsy.

Salman was also arrested from his house and is currently being interrogated. Sub-district police officer Yadmani Sidar said Salman was known to be an unpredictable person.

Salman's wife had separated from him due to frequent arguments. Despite the separation, Salman had custody of both daughters and their mother visited them occasionally.
