Kool-Aid McKinstry leaves warm-up game due to injury

Rookie cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry left the New Orleans Saints' preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers after sustaining a right leg injury. McKinstry got into a tussle with a San Francisco wide receiver at the end of the first possession and was seen walking awkwardly off the field after the play.

It's unclear exactly what happened, as the replay of the broadcast did not show that angle. However, the FOX Sports broadcast provided an update on the rookie, stating that his injury was to his right leg.

FOX sideline reporter Kristina Pink said, “Rookie cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry was in and out of the medical tent and seemed to be resting his right leg. Lots of conversations with the medical staff. He went to the locker room for further treatment.”

McKinstry attempted to stay in the game. He was seen backpedaling on the sideline and stretching on an exercise bike before heading back to the locker room. After speaking with the medical team and examining his leg, McKinstry was sent to the locker room.

Hopefully the injury isn't too bad. Marshon Lattimore and Paulson Adebo were both already injured and losing McKinstry would limit the cornerback spot even further.
