“Prabhas made the Telugu film industry famous worldwide,” says Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy thanked popular actor Prabhas, who has worked in pan-Indian films like Baahubali Franchise, SalaarAnd Kalki 2898 ADby bringing the Telugu film industry to the world stage.

Speaking at an event on Sunday, the Chief Minister said Prabhas was helping the Telugu film industry compete with Hollywood. He praised the actor’s impressive work and noted that the Baahubali Star has gained tremendous popularity in the country.

The Prime Minister said it was inconceivable that anyone else could play the role that Prabhas played in the Baahubali series and even compared the actor with former actor and Prabhas' uncle, Krishnam Raju.

CM Reddy said Prabhas played an important role in the success of South Indian cinema.

Prabhas' last release was the science fiction action drama Kalki 2898 ADDirected by Nag Ashwin and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, it grossed over Rs 1,000 crore at the box office. The film is the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in India.

The actor currently has a number of films in the pipeline, including Kannappadirected by Mukesh Kumar Singh, the romantic horror comedy The Raja Saab directed by Maruthi and another film directed by Animal: Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
