What can we expect from Rick and Morty: Anime?

Although it is a spin-off, Rick and Morty remain the main characters of the anime. It is set in a parallel world where superheroes are banned, and the story begins with the death of a former hero turned government agent in 1985. Rorschach, another retired superhero, begins to investigate the murder, which leads to a chain reaction that could spark a global war.

What is the difference between Rick and Morty: anime and series?

The anime was created by Takashi Sano, who also created the popular anime series Tower of God. The art style of the show leans more towards the anime style rather than the western animation style. The show is available in Japanese dubbing and has been officially listed on the My Anime List website.

Although the series is called a spin-off, it is based more on the multiverse theory. Jason DeMarco, the series' action and anime producer, explained at the San Diego Comic-Con: “This is not a spin-off, this is [Sano’s] Reinterpreting the characters and themes of the original. He had the freedom to interpret them however he wanted, within the framework already set by the show,” reports Giant Freakin Robot.
