Armenian Ministry of Culture expresses condolences on the death of Alain Delon – Public Radio of Armenia

The Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has expressed its condolences on the death of French film legend Alain Delon.

“It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Alain Delon, a true symbol of French cinema who touched thousands of hearts around the world. His emotional stance towards Armenia and the Armenian people will forever be engraved in our memories and hearts,” the ministry said in a social media post.

French film legend Alain Delon died on Sunday, August 18, at the age of 88.

The actor was a star of the golden era of French cinema and was known for his role as a tough guy on screen in hits such as “The Samurai” and “Borsalino”.

“He died peacefully in his home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and his family,” said a statement released to the AFP news agency. The family asked for privacy.

Alain Delon visited Armsnia in 2012.
