Tragic! 17-year-old boy chokes to death after eating rasgulla while playing mobile game in Jharkhand

In a tragic incident, a 17-year-old boy died in Jharkhand's Singhbhum district on Sunday after he ate a piece of rasgulla (sweet) and it got stuck in his throat while he was lying on his bed at home playing games on his mobile phone.

According to reports, the boy had difficulty breathing for several minutes after the incident and eventually lost his life.

The minor was identified as Amit Singh.

According to reports, Singh's uncle, who was returning home after three months of working in the open air, brought Rasgulla with him, which ultimately cost his nephew his life.

Seeing his nephew gasping for air, Singh's uncle tried his best to pull out the rasgulla, but he could not.

In the meantime, the minor began to vomit and lost consciousness. In a panic, his relatives took him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Case of accidental death registered

After being informed about the incident, the police reached the spot and registered an accidental death. A tragic incident just a day before Raksha Bandhan has left the entire village in mourning.

Singh lived in the house with his father, mother and younger sister.

13-year-old girl sexually abused by boys in Bhojpur Ara, Bihar

Meanwhile, in another incident in Bhojpur district of Bihar, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly sexually abused by a boy, police said on Monday.

Following the incident, which took place on Sunday evening, a large police force was deployed in the village under Kishangarh police station limits to prevent unrest as the survivor and the accused belong to different communities, it said.

In a statement, police said they received a call about the incident around 9 p.m.

“Senior officers of the local police station immediately reached the scene of the accident and took the victim to the district hospital for medical examination. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against a minor from the same village based on the statements of the victim's family members,” it said.

The police said they had also searched the apartment of the fugitive defendant.

The accused's father has been summoned for questioning, it said. The survivor's medical report is still awaited, it said.
