Eight people injured, one dead in mass shooting on North Spring Street

On August 18 at approximately 8:01 p.m., Eastern District patrol officers responded to multiple calls for a reported shooting and were dispatched to the 1300 block of North Spring Street.

When they arrived, Baltimore police officers found several victims with gunshot wounds on site. A short time later, other victims were taken to nearby hospitals to have their gunshot wounds treated. In total, eight gunshot victims were identified by officers.

The victims include a 36-year-old man, a 46-year-old man, a 23-year-old man, a 40-year-old man, a 41-year-old woman, a 45-year-old man, a 22-year-old man and an unidentified adult male.

Paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victims to nearby hospitals, where the 36-year-old man was pronounced dead. The condition of the remaining victims ranges from critical to stable.

Homicide detectives arrived at the scene and took over the investigation.
