Arvind Kejriwal's sister regrets not tying Rakhi to her jailed brother

Haridwar (Uttarakhand): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's sister could not join Rakhi with her brother as the latter was languishing in Tihar Jail. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's sister Dr Ranjana Gupta lives with her family and her husband, doctor Dr Ajay Kumar Gupta, in Shivalik Nagar, Haridwar. Dr Ranjana says only 10 people were allowed to meet her brother on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita and a team of lawyers will meet him. In this backdrop, the eleventh person will not be allowed to enter. Although she could not meet her brother on Raksha Bandhan, she said that she met her brother recently in Delhi Jail.

Dr. Ranjana says that this time on Raksha Bandhan, she is praying for her brother's long life and also for his early release from jail. She says that her brother was a topper student since his childhood. Ranjana further stated that she has been praying to God for his early release from jail.

Dr. Ranjana Gupta mentioned that Arvind Kejriwal was born on 16 August, which coincided with Krishna Janmashtami, so initially his family called him Krishna Krishna. However, over time, his name changed to Arvind Kejriwal, though his family still called him Krishna when he was young.

Arvind Kejriwal's sister Dr Ranjana Gupta, speaking to ETV Bharat, said that this time she has sent Rakhi through her sister-in-law. She said, I am sitting at home and praying to God that my brother should have a long life. Also, I want him to come out of jail as soon as possible. I want him to be able to serve the people of Delhi again.

Dr. Ranjana Gupta says that even in jail, Arvind Kejriwal remains strong and focused on helping the people of Delhi. She mentioned that Kejriwal's time behind bars has not discouraged him but has strengthened his resolve.

Dr. Gupta said that when she met Kejriwal's wife, she came to know that he was spending his time reading biographies of freedom fighters. Currently, Kejriwal is reading about freedom fighters in jail. She said that she has currently ordered the biographies of Mahatma Gandhi and Bhagat Singh.
