Chavez is 62, but he stays in shape and could appear in an unofficial duel with the undefeated AmericanA fight between two greats of their time that could sell well given their outstanding careers.

Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.: Will it happen?

Will the two boxing icons meet in a boxing ring or Is this just a mocking post from Chavez wanting to have some fun?

Chavez and Mayweather Jr. could have agreed on an exhibition fight, but the American faces John Gotti III this weekend and it seems unlikely that he will put the gloves back on in a few weeks.

However, both men know they can still sell and have taken part in exhibition fights since their retirementChavez was in the ring with Jorge Arce in 2021 and most recently with Hector Camacho Junior. There was no official announcement from either side.

It could also be the result of a social media joke from the former world champion. There has been controversy surrounding Canelo and the UFC, as the boxer and the organization must share events in Las Vegas on the weekend of September 14-15so it could just be a funny post to confuse the fans even more, given the amount of action that is expected in “Sin City” by then.

“In my prime, I would have loved to fight Floyd Mayweather. I would have beaten him in the 140-pound class,” Chavez said in an earlier interview.

Will Chavez and Mayweather Jr. have this conversation in the ring? or is it just a mocking post from the Obregon local? Only time will tell.
