After a fight on Friday afternoon in Chambersburg, one person was hospitalized with missing teeth, the other was charged with aggravated assault

August 19, 2024 – An afternoon brawl in Chambersburg threatened to turn into a fight Friday after one man was charged and another was hospitalized. Dashon Pierre Lowry Jr. is charged with aggravated assault with extreme indifference and minor assault. Lowry Jr. is behind bars in Franklin County after failing to make $50,000 bail.

Chambersburg Police units were dispatched to the 400 block of Cedar Street, which is at the intersection with Catherine Street, around 4:10 p.m. on August 16 for an active fight. When officers arrived, they said both the victim and the accused were on the scene. The victim, officers said, was “bleeding profusely from the mouth” and emergency services were called. He was later transported to Chambersburg Hospital for treatment. Court records from the Chambersburg Police Department show the victim had two teeth knocked out of his mouth during the fight.

The defendant, Dashon Lowry, allegedly admitted to punching the victim in the face several times and kicking him after he fell to the ground. He also admitted to re-attacking the victim at least twice after he was able to leave the area and not continue the fight. In total, Lowry is alleged to have struck the victim 20 times.

Dashon Lowry failed to post $50,000 bail and remains in the Franklin County Jail.
