Woman receives life sentence in connection with the murder of her boyfriend

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSAZ) – A woman found guilty of aggravated murder was sentenced to life in prison Monday.

A jury found Brooklyn Frazie guilty in the death of her boyfriend, Darrell Scott Donahoe, 44, of Shumway Hollow. The incident began as a domestic dispute on September 27, 2023, according to authorities.

The jury deliberated in less than three hours and found Frazie guilty.

Judge Mark Kuhn sentenced Frazie to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the next 34 years on murder and 11 other charges after a week-long jury trial.

According to the Scioto County Sheriff's investigation, Frazie rammed the back of Donahoe's motorcycle with her vehicle.

Several witnesses said Frazie followed Donahoe's motorcycle at a high rate of speed, violating numerous traffic safety laws.

The pursuit continued for several miles when witnesses observed Frazie driving into the back of Donahoe's motorcycle on US 52 in New Boston.

Frazie continued driving, pulling Donahoe another 60 feet under her SUV, officials said.

According to witnesses, she also drove back via Donahoe before she was stopped by eyewitnesses.

During the trial, body camera footage was shown showing Frazie trying to claim Donahoe caused an accident in front of her, but witness testimony contradicted her account.

Court records show that several witnesses helped Donahoe after he became trapped under Frazie's vehicle, calling for jack stands to lift the vehicle off his body.

The investigation revealed that Donahoe had 14 broken ribs and severe liver injuries that caused significant internal bleeding. His death was ruled to be due to blunt force trauma.
