On Monday, 23-year-old Chrystul Kizer was sentenced to 11 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree manslaughter. She will also spend five years on extended probation.

In 2018, Kizer was 17 when she killed Randall Volar III after he sexually assaulted her. She was accused of shooting him twice in the head, setting his house on fire and fleeing in his car.

She was initially charged with several counts, including first-degree premeditated murder.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors say there is no doubt that Volar sexually abused Kizer and other girls.

Kizer was free on $400,000 bail until February. US Marshals arrested them in Louisiana on a warrant out of Milwaukee. The warrant was for another misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct in a domestic violence case.

Following that arrest, a judge denied a motion to consolidate that case with Volar's murder trial.
