Aam Aadmi Party leaders on Monday sharply criticised the BJP over the detention of its party leader Arvind Kejriwal and said they would not bow to the central government's “dictatorship”.

Minister Imran Hussain and AAP MP Sahiram Pehalwan held a workers' meeting in Chhatarpur. The party is holding such meetings in all constituencies ahead of the Delhi assembly elections early next year.

“The BJP has kept Arvind Kejriwal in jail without any evidence in the excise policy case. But we will not bow to the dictatorship of its central government,” Hussain said.

The AAP has so far successfully organised workers' conferences in more than 20 constituencies. The local MPs of the party present the details of their four-and-a-half-year work to the public at these conferences, he said.

“In the coming general elections, the public will give a befitting reply to the BJP. Once again, an Aam Aadmi Party government will be formed in Delhi under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal,” he said.

Incidentally, the sitting AAP MP from Chhatarpur, Kartar Singh Tanwar, recently left the party and joined the BJP.
