Blue Ivy's “emotional” moment in the spotlight, also with mother Beyoncé

Blue Ivy Carter is only 12 years old, but as a young girl she has already impressed many people in the entertainment industry who are more than twice her age.

The eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z is preparing for her film debut in the prequel “The Lion King”. Mufasa – The Lion Kingand was tasked with some emotional scenes that impressed the film's director.

Speaking to ET, Barry Jenkins revealed: “She does some things in this film that are really emotional. She's an actress.”

Barry added that Blue's involvement in the film had nothing to do with her famous parents, but was due to her own abilities.

“It had nothing to do with mom and dad. She was the right young woman for the job,” he said.

The film also highlights Blue's close relationship with her mother, Beyoncé. The young woman voices Kiara, the daughter of King Samba and Queen Nala, who is played by her famous mother.

“I think the relationship she has with her mother is very much embedded in the film,” Barry noted. Although this is Blue's first film role, it is not the first time she has showcased her talent as a voice actress.

In 2020, she narrated Matthew A. Cherry’s audiobook, Hair Love.

Last year, she took the stage with her mother during Beyoncé's Renaissance tour and proved that she is a talented dancer.

Although Blue is the daughter of two of today's most famous artists, the young woman has kept her life private and although she occasionally appears with her mother and father at public events, not much is known about her.

However, it is clear that her family is very close, and both grandparents have paid tribute to her on social media in recent months.

Beyoncé's father, Matthew Knowles, wrote a long message to his granddaughter in March.

He wrote: “Dear Blue Ivy. I remember going backstage at the Renaissance concert in London and asking for you. Beyoncé replied, 'She's rehearsing there' and then I understood why, because one of your friends had made a negative comment about your first performance on the tour. In that moment I was so proud that you wanted to work on getting better.”

He continued: “I want to take a moment to acknowledge your incredible determination and willingness to learn. Your enthusiasm for life and your eagerness to soak up knowledge and new experiences is truly inspirational. You have already shown the world that you are a force to be reckoned with and I have no doubt that one day you will continue to amaze us all.”

Reflecting on Blue's similarities to the rest of her famous family, the proud grandfather continued, “It is clear that you have an extraordinary Knowles spirit, and I am confident that you will find your true passion in life. Whether it is in music, art, science, business or any other field, I hope you have the courage to pursue it with all your heart. Whatever path you choose, I hope it brings you fulfillment, joy and a deep sense of purpose.”

Matthew concluded his message by urging Blue to “never be afraid” to explore new possibilities and emphasized her courage.

“Pursue your dreams, follow your heart and always believe in the extraordinary potential that lies within you,” he concluded.

Her grandmother Tina Knowles also stood by Blue and supported her. The 70-year-old spoke about her granddaughter's talents in an interview with People in July, mentioning the fact that the then 11-year-old could dance on stage in high heels.

“Well, this is a high heel family. You get trained from a young age to walk in high heels,” she told the outlet. “But yeah, she's having the time of her life and I couldn't be more proud of her because she's worked really hard.”
