According to the Barron County Sheriff's Office, a 911 call was received at approximately 11:13 p.m. on August 17 reporting a single-vehicle rollover accident on County Road SS north of New Auburn.

When authorities arrived, they found the rollover accident but not the driver. The area was searched by fire and rescue services, drones and thermal imaging cameras, but the driver was still not found.
