Giants roster news: DT Ryder Anderson released due to injury

The New York Giants made four changes to their roster on Monday afternoon.

The Giants have released defensive lineman Ryder Anderson due to injury. Anderson suffered a hamstring injury in the game against the Houston Texans.

The Giants also placed offensive lineman Yodny Cajuste on the injured list after he suffered a foot injury late in Saturday's game.

The loss of Anderson is the headline of Monday's roster shakeup, as he had a good summer and was considered a starter alongside Dexter Lawrence and Rakeem Nunez-Roches. It's possible the rise of UDFA defensive tackle Elijah Chatman played a role in the decision to release Anderson.

The Giants also signed defensive lineman Kyler Baugh and inside linebacker Trey Kiser in corresponding roster moves. Baugh entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent and was signed by the New Orleans Saints of Minnesota after the 2023 draft. Kiser was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars of South Alabama after the 2023 draft. The Giants are thin at the linebacker position after Micah McFadden (hip), Dyontae Johnson (ankle) and Matthew Adams (groin) were injured.
