Death of General Hospital's Johnny Wactor: 2 charged with murder

Johnny WactorHis murder trial is nearing completion after two attackers were charged with his murder.

Robert Barceleau And Sergio Estradaboth 18, were two of the four people arrested earlier this month in connection with Wactor's May killing. Barceleau and Estranda were charged with murder on Monday, August 19, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office via Deadline.

Barceleau is accused of killing Wactor during a robbery that could result in a life sentence without parole. In addition to the murder charge, he is accused of attempted robbery and grand theft with a firearm. Estrada is also accused of attempted robbery and grand theft with a firearm.

Leonel GutierrezThe 18-year-old was charged on Monday with attempted robbery and aggravated theft by embezzlement while armed.

The fourth suspect, Frank Olanowas charged with aiding and abetting the crime. The 22-year-old is also accused of receiving stolen goods and three counts of illegal possession of weapons.

“We were born and raised in the South and would never let a woman walk to her car alone,” Grant told the Daily Mail in May about what happened. “He passed them and thought his truck was being towed. So he said something to the guys, like, 'Hey, are you towing?' And then when he turned around, he saw what had happened and he left his colleague behind him. And then they shot him.”

Months passed before the perpetrators were arrested on Thursday, August 15.

“It’s a great birthday present for Johnny,” said Johnny’s mother. Scarlett Wacquerexclusively told Us of the arrests and pointed out that her son would have turned 38 on August 31.

Scarlett said she was “very excited and happy” that the case was moving forward. “I hope [the suspects] tried at the federal level,” she added. “I still hope and pray for a harsher sentence… I know [police] I don’t want them to run either.”

While Johnny's case continues in court, Scarlett will focus on her son's legacy.

“We will have some of Johnny’s close friends here and play board games, cook food and eat cake,” she said Us how the family would celebrate Johnny's birthday in his hometown of Summerville, South Carolina.

Scarlett remembers, “When Johnny came home, all his friends would come over, play games and reminisce.” Although she “misses laughing,” Scarlett wants to “do our best to tell stories and laugh instead of being sad that I can't hug him and kiss him.”
